Main Ingredients:

3% Chlorhexidine Gluconate

•  The target pathogen Staphylococcus intermedius is susceptible to chlorhexidine itself if incorporated in a shampoo or lotion.
   

  • Chlorhexidine in topical preparations is optimized for effect at a 3 % concentration. 
     

  • Chlorhexidine if used in a shampoo has a 4-day residual activity but if used in a lotion after the shampoo it has an antiseptic action of up to 2 weeks.
     

  • Pyohex lotion is well tolerated on the dog even if used in young dogs and for many months to years.

First shampoo with an appropriate antibacterial shampoo, such as Pyohex Medicated Shampoo, as recommended by your veterinarian.  Apply to damp coat by placing a small amount into the palm of your hand spread evenly over both hands, then massage gently into coat over entire body.  Use approximately 1 mL per kilogram of body weight for the dog.  Do not rinse after application.
